Tomas E Bowens
President, CEO and Director
Thomas Bowens is a certified professional geologist with over twenty-five years of international experience in the minerals exploration industry, and has spent the last nineteen years based in Mongolia (1998-2006) and Russia (since 2005). Prior to founding IG Copper in 2009, Mr Bowens was the Vice President of Exploration and Chief of Operations for Fortress Minerals Corporation. He is currently based in Khabarovsk in the Russian Far East. Mr Bowens is also the General Director of OOO Amur Minerals, the Russian registered license holder of the Malmyzh Copper Gold Deposit, and the Director General of Khabarovsk Minerals, the Parent Company of Amur Minerals which is a joint venture company owned by IG Copper (51%) and Freeport McMoRan Corporation (49%). Mr Bowens has been directly responsible for two major mineral deposit discoveries in Russia in the past 12 years, Svetloye and Malmyzh, and has a track record of success in the management and operation of exploration companies. Mr Bowens is also the founder and Director General of Kolymageo LLC– an exploration drilling and geologic services company in the Russian Far East. He has worked for Cyprus Amax Exploration, Harrods Minerals, Ivanhoe Mines, and two Lundin Group Companies, International Uranium and Fortress Minerals. Mr Bowens has degrees in economics, geological engineering (Magna Cum Laude) and a master’s degree in Geology, the latter two from the Colorado School of Mines.
Paul A Korpi
Vice President - Project Development
Mr Korpi is a metallurgical engineer who has worked in the mining business for over 40 years in a variety of operations and project management positions. He has lived and worked in Indonesia, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Papua New Guinea, Australia, Canada and the USA. He was the Director of Development for Newmont and Sumitomo Corporation’s Batu Hijau copper/gold project in Indonesia. More recently, as General Director of Kazakhmys Projects LLC he was responsible for the development of the Aktogay and Boshokal Mines in Kazakhstan, both large copper porphyry deposits. Mr Korpi has a Bachelor of Science degree in metallurgical engineering from Michigan Technological University.
Gregory S Collins
Mr Collins is a professional geologist with over twenty five years of experience in the mining/exploration industry. He has held senior roles with companies such as North Limited, Anglogold Ashanti and more recently as China/Russia Exploration Manager and Chief Geologist for Eldorado Gold. In his capacity as Chief Geologist, he took an active role in developing mine geology models and in-mine exploration efforts in the company’s China operations. Mr Collins has experience in the North Asia exploration scene, having worked in the China/Mongolia/Russia region since 2004. Prior to this he worked in the industry throughout Australia, exploring for a wide range of base and precious metal deposits. He has a proven ability to identify and add high quality projects to a company’s portfolio. He was responsible for directing Anglogold Ashanti’s entry into the world class Tropicana project in Western Australia, leading to the discovery of the +8Moz Havana/Tropicana deposit.
Chief Financial Officer
Mr Khersonsky has CPA and CGA qualifications. He is a senior professional with extensive international experience in finance and accounting. He specializes in mining and public entity’s financial reporting requirements. He has a broad multi-disciplinary background including operational management, business development and marketing, international trade and logistics. Mr Khersonsky is an experienced manager, communicator and negotiator, and has worked in a variety of cross-cultural environments. He is fluent in the Russian language.
Douglas J McGay
Vice President - Corporate Development
Mr McGay has spent the past 20 years as a resident of Mongolia founding, funding, building and managing resource-orientated businesses. Prior to that he was involved with the mineral and mining industry in Western Australia as a consultant surveyor.
He has held senior management and executive positions in Harrods Minerals Mongolia; Ivanhoe Mines Mongolia during the period of the Oyu Tolgoi discovery; and Batu Mining as the founder and CEO.
In 2006 he founded Petro Matad LLC As CEO and Director of the new entity, Mr McGay guided Petro Matad to a 2008 listing on the London AIM, the first Mongolian company ever to list on an international exchange.
Deputy Director – Geology and Government Relations
Mr Ignatiev is mining engineer with over 40 years of experience in geological prospecting and exploration of gold-silver, copper-nickel, and copper porphyry deposits in the Far East of Russia (Kamchatka, Khabarovsk, Primorie). He has had extensive work experience with the estimation of reserves and their GKZ (Government) approval. Mr Ignatiev is the author of over 20 scientific papers. He also the discoverer of three deposits in the Far East.
Chief Drill Site Engineer
Mr Vitt a professional mining engineer with over 15 years work experience in exploration and mining. Used to work as a foreman, a camp manager and a mechanic with experience in maintenance and exploitation of BOART LONGYEAR, Atlas Copco, SCHRAMM, FURUKAVA, TAMROOCK, FORDIA, STRONG MINERS drill rigs. A highly qualified specialist with excellent organizational abilities. Used to work under complicated natural conditions throughout the Southern and Arctic Urals, Kamchatka and Chukotka, at drilling projects with KINROSS GOLD in Chukotka, RIO TINTO in Kamchatka, N-Mining in Kolyma and in Khabarovsk krai. Average drilling productivity 2,000 lin m per drill rig/month. From 2012 used to work as a foreman, a deputy general director on drilling projects with Amur Minerals LLC and Kolymageo LLC (IGC and IGD companies). Capable of organizing continuous mining, mining-preparatory, and mining-geological operations, high quality drilling, well coordinated team work and modern equipment around-the-clock work. Mr. Vitt has two degrees, one in exploration and mining engineering, diplomas of retraining.
